The ice rink is artificially chilled in order to keep it frozen even on the most pleasant of winter days. A $5 admission includes skate rental and benefits Food Bank for the Heartland. Free parking is available on the ConAgra Foods campus on Saturday from 10 a.m. to Midnight and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
A significant component of the Holiday Lights Festival is the campaign to “Shine the Light on Hunger.” The ConAgra Foods Ice Rink provides a family friendly attraction to the Holiday Lights Festival while mobilizing the community in an effort to give back to those in need.
As presenting sponsor of the Holiday Lights Festival, ConAgra Foods will construct a temporary ice-skating rink on its campus. Admission is $5 and includes skate rental as needed. All proceeds from the ConAgra Foods skating rink will be donated to Food Bank for the Heartland. The ConAgra Foods Foundation will match ice rink donations dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000.
The public is encouraged to bring donations of non-perishable food and household goods to drop into collection bins, which will be distributed to families in need by Food Bank for the Heartland.
Please note: All skaters must sign a liability waiver in the admission tent before ice skating at the ConAgra Foods Ice Rink. For skaters under the age of 19, a parent or guardian must sign this waiver on their behalf.
