Shine the Light on Hunger
You can make this season a little brighter for those in need.
The holiday can be a time of celebration and indulgence for many in the Heartland. For others who don’t have enough to eat, it’s harder to join in the joy of the season.
More than 27,000 children in Douglas County, 95,000 across Nebraska, and 139,000 in Iowa live with hunger every day.
This holiday season, ConAgra Foods set a goal of raising 1.4 million meals for the hungry throughout the Shine the Light on Hunger campaign. The campaign has become a community-wide, holiday tradition growing in support and participation year to year.
The community can achieve this goal through participation in Shine the Light on Hunger events, like the ConAgra Foods Ice Rink, as well as by making donations of non-perishable food items or funds to Food Bank for the Heartland. $1 donation to Food Bank for the Heartland can provide 3 meals for those in need. The ConAgra Foods Foundation will match these donations dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000.
